Today, we're going to take a look at the Pro Series Square Jack with Footplate, part number PS1401600383. Now, Pro Series covers this jack with a limited one-year warranty. It has the static capacity of 5000 pounds and a lift capacity of 3000. It's a sidewind style jack where the handle is on the side and it has a nice grip to make operation of the jack smooth and easy. The outer tube is finished in a black paint. The inner tubes and the welded footplate are zinc plated to provide corrosion resistance for the steel underneath.
Now, we're going to go over a couple of measurements. First, we're going to measure the completely retracted height. From the top of the jack to the bottom of the footplate, we get 25.8 inches. Now, we have the same jack here. However, this one is completely extended except for the dropleg and we're going to take that same measurement, again, from the top of the jack all the way to the bottom of the footplate and we get 40.8 inches.
Now, for you to extend the dropleg all the way, we did add up with a total length of 54.4 inches. The difference between the retracted and the extended measurement is 15 inches and that's known as the jack's lift or travel.
